How to stay motivated and keep using your planner.

As we enter the third week of January and the freshness of New Year's resolutions begins to wear off it's easy to start losing motivation.

This is when it's really important to keep going and keep motivated. Also if you are new to using a planner, don't be hard on yourself, it takes time to get into a new habit.

Here are some tips for keeping up to date with your planner.

Remind yourself of your why: You have big plans and dreams. Make sure you keep those and your WHY at the forefront of your mind.

Make it a daily habit:

Incorporate updating your planner into your daily routine, such as doing it first thing in the morning or last thing at night. Keep your planner and pen at hand for example by your bed where it is easy to access and enter new plans and appointments. Write it in your habit tracker and feel the satisfaction of ticking this off every day.

Download the MY PA Planner App: If you have not already done so then download the App. We will be supporting you by pushing gentle reminders to use your planner, set goals and more. (The App Store or Google Play Store)

Set specific, measurable, and achievable goals for yourself: This will help you stay focused and motivated.

Use a planner that works for you: Find a planner that suits your needs and personal style. Whether it's a traditional paper planner or a digital one, make sure it's one you will enjoy using.

Prioritize: Prioritize your tasks and schedule based on their importance and urgency. This will help you focus on what's important and avoid feeling overwhelmed.

Reflect and review: Reflect on your progress regularly and review your goals. This will help you stay on track and make any necessary adjustments to your plan.

Find an accountability partner: Find someone who can hold you accountable for updating your planner, such as a friend or family member.

Reward yourself: Set up small rewards for yourself when you achieve your goals, such as treating yourself to a nice meal or buying yourself something you've been wanting.

Be flexible: Things change, plans change, and it's ok to adjust and adapt as needed.

It's important to remember that change takes time, and it may take some time to develop the habit of using a planner. Be patient with yourself and don't give up if you slip up. Keep trying and remember why you started using a planner in the first place.
